Fans will rejoice to learn Saturday, August 31st in Logan Square, the Chicago Bears will be host their fourth annual Miller Lite Block Party to kick off the regular season! The event will run from noon till 10 pm and feature a variety of tailgate-style food, beverages, Miller Lite’s Bar 75 and the Miller Lite Food Truck. Additionally, family free activities will be on hand, including the Kid Zone featuring Chicago Bears Kids Club and Crib Club along with various photo opportunities.

The rating scale is from 1 – 10 with a 1 rating being the highest or best. Over the years, Kankakee Fire Department was rated as a 3 or a 4. Approximately five years ago, the department lowered their rating down to a 2. The most recent survey completed in Oct. of 2018, resulted in a recent drop to a 1.

Jean Lambert-Zack, 87, of Momence, IL, died Friday, July 26, 2019. Visitation is Tuesday, July 30, 2019, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, IL. The funeral service is Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home.

Nearly 400 family members and friends of were on hand for the deployment of Illinois Army National Guard Unit Charlie Company 1-178 Infantry Battalion, in Kankakee yesterday. The unit is scheduled for a 9-month assignment to Afghanistan. Among those in attendance were Kankakee Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong and State Represenative Lindsay Parkhurst.
