Will County Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Governor’s Office

Crete, IL – A Crete man was arrested after allegedly sending a threatening email to the office of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), 49-year-old Michael Dascenzo was taken into custody on February 25 after an investigation linked him to the message sent on January 9. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Dascenzo with one count of Threat to a Public Official, a Class 3 felony, and one count of Harassment by Electronic Communications, a Class 4 felony.

Dascenzo is currently being held at the Will County Adult Detention Center as he awaits a pre-trial detention hearing.

The charges are allegations, and Dascenzo is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
