Classifieds Policy & Guidelines

Listings automatically expire and are removed from the public site after 72 hours. This prevents stale "ghost" listings and encourages sellers to follow up and renew active items. You can renew a listing, but renewals require a free Country Herald account so you can manage your listings in one place.

Photos attached to expired, non-renewed listings are purged from our system after 7 days.

All photos are screened before a listing goes live. The following content is prohibited and will result in immediate removal:

• Nudity, sexual content, or adult products (including sex toys and lingerie)
• Graphic violence, gore, or bloodshed
• Firearms, weapons, ammunition, or explosives
• Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
• Hate symbols or discriminatory imagery
• Threatening or intimidating posts of any nature

The following listings are not permitted on Country Herald Classifieds:

• Illegal goods or services of any kind
• Stolen, counterfeit, or fraudulently represented property
• Prohibited weapons and unlawful drugs
• Sexual services or solicitation
• Impersonation, fraud, or deceptive lead-generation posts
• Spam, duplicate flooding, or misleading advertising

Your safety matters. When meeting a buyer or seller in person:

• Meet at a designated safe meetup spot — well-lit, public areas like police station parking lots, shopping centers, or community spaces
• Bring a friend or family member; avoid meeting alone when possible
• Meet during daylight hours
• Inspect items carefully before paying
• Use cash or secure payment apps; never wire money or send prepaid gift cards
• Trust your instincts — if something feels off, walk away

Listings that violate these policies may be removed without notice. Repeat or severe violations may result in a permanent ban from the marketplace. We aim to be transparent: these policies exist to keep the community safe, not to be heavy-handed. If your listing was removed and you believe it was in error, you can contact our team for review.
