After years of Big Ten fans mocking the school’s use of the “THE” before their name, the institution is now attempting to own the term, literally, by copyrighting the use of the “THE” before their name, in a bid for further merchandising opportunities. The school has over 150 trademarks currently, including the names of former football coach Woody Hayes and Urban Meyer.

During last night’s city council meeting, the city council voted 8-4 to approve the proposal for the fiscal year 2020 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant applications.
