Each month, the Kankakee Public Library will ask for a donation that targets specific items to help others within the community. November’s items are deodorant and quality adult sized gloves. Donations can be deposited in the designated blue bin inside the doors of the Kankakee Public Library.

Winners of the tournaments receive custom trophies and a cash prize. Mario Kart's winners from this past month included Lee LaMontagne who finished 3rd, Hans Vallejo who finished 2nd and Alena Stasiak who was the winner of the tournament along with a $200.00 cash prize

“The unfortunate death of a third Illinois resident underscores the seriousness of these lung injuries,” said IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike. “New cases continue to be reported in Illinois and across the country. IDPH is urging Illinoisans not to vape or use e-cigarettes products, especially illicit THC based products, while we continue to investigate this outbreak.”

“The time change serves as a great reminder to test your smoke alarms and change the batteries in them,” says State Fire Marshal Matt Perez. “Parents can use this time to teach kids how to recognize the sound of smoke alarms and to practice their home fire safety plan.”

Several towns have moved their Trick or Treat hours to Friday including Buckingham, Braidwood, Chebanse, Clifton, Dwight, Grant Park, and Herscher. Beecher’s Trick or Treat Hours have been moved to Saturday.
