MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota residents can expect a fall-like chill this weekend as brisk northwest winds sweep across the state, holding daytime highs in the low to mid-60s. Gusts could reach 25 mph, making Saturday and Sunday feel cooler than the thermometer reads.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, an isolated sprinkle or two may pop up Saturday afternoon, but widespread rain is not expected. Most areas will remain dry, with cooler air dominating the region through Monday.

Cities including St. Cloud, Red Wing, and Mankato will struggle to climb above the mid-60s during the day, with nighttime lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s. In the Twin Cities, residents should brace for breezy conditions through the weekend, particularly in open areas and along highways. Drivers may notice crosswinds, especially on north-south routes.

The weather service advises residents to secure outdoor items, limit time on lakes, and prepare for a noticeable cooldown. Warmer air is expected to return gradually, with highs rebounding into the low 70s by midweek.
