San Angelo, Texas – Thunderstorms could bring flooding rain and dangerous driving conditions to San Angelo by early Tuesday afternoon, as summer heat builds.

According to the National Weather Service, a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms begins by 1 p.m. Tuesday, with highs reaching 86°F and winds out of the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Stronger storms may bring gusty winds and brief downpours, especially near US-67 and other low-lying roads. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and half an inch are expected, but localized areas could see more.

Tuesday night continues the storm threat, with a 50% chance of rain and totals potentially exceeding an inch in some areas. South winds remain steady, with lows near 68°F. Residents should secure outdoor items, charge devices, and avoid travel during peak downpours.

By Wednesday, another round of storms could develop. Rain chances jump to 70%, with daytime highs in the low 80s. Expect muggy air and periods of heavy rain through Wednesday evening.

Thursday and Friday will see clearing skies and rising temps. Highs near 90°F return by late week, bringing back typical June heat for West Texas.
