Illinois — The Illinois Department of Agriculture announced on July 5 that its director was honored with an Award of Appreciation. Director Jerry Costello II received the award for his support of the Perry County 4-H Live Auction.
The auction was held on June 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event is for current 4-H youth to showcase livestock including beef, swine, sheep and goats. Those who showcased livestock at the Perry County Fair can participate in the Perry and Randolph County Livestock Auction. The livestock auction was coordinated by the Perry County Fair Board and the Randolph County Foundation. It is a public event and all proceeds from sales go to local youth.
