Dearborn, MI – A moped rider remains in critical condition following a serious Friday night crash in Dearborn, and police are asking the public to help identify a vehicle believed to have been involved.
According to the Dearborn Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:02 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the area of 6951 Chase Road in Wayne County.
Preliminary information indicates the moped rider was allegedly sideswiped by another vehicle, resulting in serious injuries. Police said the rider remained in critical condition as of Saturday.
Investigators are now searching for a dark-colored Dodge Grand Caravan believed to have been involved in the collision. Police described it as likely being a 2008-2010 model with chrome accents and silver-colored wheels.
The vehicle’s license plate is currently unknown.
Police said the suspected vehicle was last observed traveling southbound on Chase Road following the crash. Authorities have not announced an arrest or publicly identified a suspected driver.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the Dodge Grand Caravan to come forward. Police are also seeking potentially relevant dash-camera, surveillance or cellphone video recorded near the crash scene around the time of the incident.
