Fort Wayne, IN Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, Another Critically Hurt

Fort Wayne, IN – One man is dead and another is critically wounded following an early Saturday shooting at Showgirl III on East Coliseum Boulevard, prompting a homicide investigation in Fort Wayne.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers responded to 930 E. Coliseum Blvd. at about 3:36 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police said officers provided life-saving measures until medics arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

The man later died from his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Around the same time, another man arrived at the same hospital with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police. Investigators believe the second man may have been involved in the initial shooting. Hospital staff listed him in critical condition.

Police said there is currently no known threat to the public.

Fort Wayne homicide detectives were working at both scenes Saturday, interviewing witnesses and reviewing available footage. The department’s Crime Scene Unit was collecting evidence and documenting the area with assistance from its Air Support Unit.

Police did not identify the man who died or provide additional information about what allegedly led to the gunfire in the initial announcement. No arrest was announced.
