Columbia, SC 7-Day Forecast May 13-20: Dry Stretch With Highs Near 95

Columbia, SC – A prolonged stretch of dry and increasingly hot weather is expected across Columbia and much of central South Carolina through next week, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s by the end of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and warm spring temperatures with highs near 84 degrees across the Columbia metro area. Winds are expected to remain light, creating favorable conditions for outdoor activities and travel throughout the Midlands.

Forecasters say dry conditions will continue Wednesday night into Thursday with overnight lows dropping into the lower 60s before cooler air briefly settles into the region Thursday. High temperatures Thursday are expected to reach near 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

The warming trend quickly resumes Friday as highs rebound into the lower 80s with abundant sunshine continuing across Richland and Lexington counties.

By Saturday, summerlike heat intensifies across central South Carolina. High temperatures are forecast to reach near 92 degrees Saturday before climbing to around 95 degrees Sunday. Monday is expected to remain extremely warm with highs near 94 degrees.

No significant rain chances are currently expected through the extended forecast period, allowing for several consecutive days of dry weather across the state.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and limit prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest afternoon hours this weekend and early next week.
