Buffalo, NY – A cool and wet stretch of weather will continue across western New York through Thursday before sunshine and warmer temperatures return heading into the weekend and early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are expected overnight into Wednesday morning across the Buffalo metro area, with rainfall totals generally remaining under a quarter inch. Gusty southeast winds could reach up to 28 mph Wednesday before conditions gradually improve later in the day.
Forecasters say scattered showers may linger Wednesday afternoon before tapering off Wednesday night. High temperatures Wednesday are expected to reach near 60 degrees, while overnight lows dip into the lower 40s.
Another round of isolated showers remains possible Thursday under cloudy skies with highs near 53 degrees. Cooler air will persist across Erie and Niagara counties through the end of the workweek before a warming trend begins Friday.
Friday is forecast to turn partly sunny with highs near 61 degrees as drier weather settles into western New York. Conditions improve even further Saturday with mostly sunny skies, breezy southwest winds, and highs climbing near 68 degrees.
Temperatures continue rising into early next week. Sunday is expected to reach near 74 degrees with a slight chance of showers, while Monday could warm into the lower 80s across the Buffalo area.
Residents should prepare for changing temperatures through the week, ranging from cool rainy conditions to much warmer spring weather by early next week.
