Buffalo, New York – Periods of rain and thunderstorms will continue to disrupt travel and outdoor plans across western New York, with stronger storms possible by Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through midweek, with a few storms capable of producing isolated damaging wind gusts. Activity today will include scattered storms, especially during the morning hours, before another round develops tonight and into Wednesday.

Cities including Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Jamestown could see brief heavy downpours reducing visibility and causing ponding on roads like I-90 and Route 33. Temperatures will climb into the upper 60s to near 80 degrees Wednesday, adding instability that could support stronger storms during the afternoon and evening.

By Thursday, another round of showers arrives, though the overall severe threat may be lower. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s to low 60s, keeping conditions cool between rounds of rain.

Residents should remain weather-aware, secure loose outdoor items, and prepare for quick changes in conditions. Additional advisories or warnings may be issued through Wednesday as the active pattern continues.
