Grand Forks, North Dakota – Drivers across northern North Dakota could encounter slick and slushy roads this morning as a narrow band of snow moves through the Devils Lake region toward the Canadian border.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, a mix of rain and snow is expected early today from Devils Lake and Cando east through Langdon and along the Manitoba border. Snowfall totals may reach 1 to 3 inches in localized areas, especially where precipitation changes fully to snow before mid-morning.

The greatest travel impacts are expected on highways connecting Devils Lake, Langdon, and surrounding rural roads, where temperatures near freezing could allow snow to stick and create slippery conditions. Visibility may also drop during heavier bursts, making early morning travel more hazardous.

Areas farther south, including Grand Forks and Fargo, are less likely to see significant accumulation, but brief rain-snow mix could still create isolated slick spots.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and remain alert for changing road conditions. Conditions should improve later this morning as temperatures rise, but additional updates may be issued if snow bands intensify.
