Green Bay, Wisconsin – Drivers in Brown County are being turned around immediately as a washed-out route of Fish Creek Road has made the route impassable, cutting off access near County Trunk E and stranding normal traffic flow.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Oneida Police Department, flooding washed out a section of the roadway within the past several hours, leaving a large gap where pavement once stood. Authorities have closed the road and are urging drivers to avoid the area entirely and use alternate routes.

The collapse appears tied to fast-moving water undermining the roadbed, a common issue during periods of heavy rain or rapid snowmelt in northeast Wisconsin. Key areas near Green Bay, including low-lying crossings and culverts, are especially vulnerable when drainage systems become overwhelmed.

Officials and local crews have placed barricades, but visibility in foggy conditions could make the closure harder to spot until drivers are close. Officials warn that attempting to bypass closures could be dangerous due to unstable ground and hidden erosion.

Motorists should reroute well in advance, especially those traveling between rural Brown County corridors. More closures are possible if water levels continue to rise, and additional updates may follow as crews assess damage and safety risks.
