LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas is enjoying a stretch of warm, sunny weather to start the week, but rain and thunderstorms could arrive by midweek. Residents can expect clear skies and above-average temperatures through Tuesday before a system moves in late Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday and Tuesday will see highs in the mid-to-upper 70s across much of central Arkansas, with sunny skies and light winds. South winds may pick up slightly on Tuesday, reaching gusts of 20 mph.

By Wednesday night, clouds will increase, and showers and thunderstorms are likely, particularly after midnight. Rain chances peak at 80%, with gusty winds possible. Some thunderstorms may be strong, so residents should monitor local forecasts for updates.

Thursday will bring drier conditions, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. However, another round of showers and thunderstorms could develop Friday afternoon into the evening. The chance of precipitation stands at 60%, with lingering showers possible into Saturday.

Looking ahead, the weekend will see cooler temperatures, with highs in the upper 60s. A slight chance of showers remains on Saturday, but Sunday looks dry and sunny.

Travelers and commuters should be aware of changing conditions midweek, especially on I-30 and I-40, where rain could impact visibility and road conditions. Stay updated with local forecasts to plan ahead.
