Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia residents can expect a brief stretch of wet weather midweek before sunshine and much warmer temperatures arrive heading into the weekend and next week, with highs potentially reaching the 90s by Monday and Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will stay partly sunny and warm with highs near 76 degrees. Breezy south winds could gust up to 30 mph during the afternoon before rain chances increase later at night.
Forecasters say showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely Wednesday night, mainly after sunset. Rainfall totals are expected to remain relatively light, though heavier downpours could occur in isolated thunderstorms. Overnight lows will dip to around 55 degrees.
A few lingering showers may continue Thursday, especially before the afternoon hours. Conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the day with skies becoming partly sunny and highs near 68 degrees.
By Friday, drier weather returns across the Philadelphia metro area with mostly sunny skies and highs near 71 degrees. The warming trend strengthens over the weekend as temperatures climb into the lower 80s Saturday and upper 80s Sunday under sunny skies.
Early next week could feel more like summer than spring. Monday is forecast to reach near 90 degrees, while Tuesday could surge to around 94 degrees with a slight chance of afternoon showers.
