Philadelphia, PA – Dry and pleasant conditions will give way to a wetter midweek pattern across southeastern Pennsylvania, with showers and possible thunderstorms arriving Wednesday, May 13.
According to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, Tuesday, May 12, will remain mostly sunny and dry, with highs ranging from 60 to 68 degrees across Philadelphia, Delaware County, and surrounding areas. A light afternoon sea breeze is also expected.
Conditions begin to change Wednesday, May 13, as showers develop from west to east during the afternoon, becoming more widespread into the evening and overnight hours. A few thunderstorms are possible late in the day, with breezy conditions developing as the system moves through.
Rain chances continue into Thursday, May 14, with lingering showers expected, particularly in areas north and east of Philadelphia. Some breaks of sunshine may develop, but overall conditions will remain unsettled.
Temperatures will stay mild through the period, with highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s Wednesday before slightly cooler conditions return Thursday, with highs between 58 and 68 degrees.
While severe weather is not the primary concern, periods of rain could impact commutes and outdoor plans, especially Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of Tuesday’s dry weather before a stretch of unsettled conditions moves into the region midweek.
