Pittsburgh, PA – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through Friday morning for the higher elevations of Westmoreland and Fayette counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Eastern Preston and Western Tucker counties in West Virginia.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, snowfall could add up to two more inches in these areas, with winds gusting as high as 45 mph. The warning, issued Thursday afternoon, indicates hazardous travel conditions are likely for the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, with slippery roads and reduced visibility expected.

The combination of snow and strong winds may also lead to fallen tree branches and potential power outages. Residents are urged to use caution, particularly on mountain roads, and to prepare for delays.

The NWS encourages the public to report snow or ice accumulations by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS Pittsburgh Facebook page, or tweeting @NWSPittsburgh.

Stay tuned for updates as conditions develop.
