Wheaton, IL – Wheaton residents can safely recycle old electronics at the city’s monthly drop-off event on Saturday. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Storage Yard, located at 820 W. Liberty Drive, near the police department.

According to city officials, this drive-thru event allows residents to safely dispose of small electronics, computers, and televisions. However, a fee is required to recycle TVs and monitors, with smaller screens costing $25 and larger screens $35.

New safety protocols require participants to place all items in the trunk of their vehicle. Volunteers will not enter passenger compartments, and participants must remain in their vehicles. Unbagged textiles and small electronics will not be accepted.

The city urges anyone experiencing illness to stay home to protect volunteers and participants. For more information on accepted items or fees, visit the city’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/electronics.
