Three Charged After Lombard Online Sale Turns into Abduction, Victim Rescued in Chicago

Lombard, IL – Three people face charges after an online sale in Lombard escalated into a kidnapping that ended with the victim’s recovery in Chicago. Police responded to a report of an altercation around 12:03 p.m. Wednesday at a gas station near North Avenue and Main Street.

According to Lombard Police, the victim arranged to meet potential buyers for a personal property sale, coordinated online. During the exchange, three suspects allegedly abducted the individual, sparking a swift response from Lombard detectives who launched an investigation and began tracking the suspects.

By approximately 3:45 p.m., detectives traced the suspects and victim to a location in Chicago, where officers safely recovered the victim and took the three suspects into custody. The victim received medical treatment at a nearby hospital for unspecified injuries and is expected to recover.

The three suspects now face multiple charges related to the abduction. Police have not yet disclosed their identities as they continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident. Authorities remind residents to exercise caution when meeting strangers for online transactions.
