Fort Bliss, Texas – Dangerous heat grips El Paso County again Monday as temperatures soar to 99°F, with more triple-digit highs expected through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for Fort Bliss, downtown El Paso, and Socorro after Sunday’s 102°F spike. The advisory expired at 8 p.m. Sunday, but the risk isn’t over. Monday’s high hits 99°F, and similar conditions will persist all week. Expect sunny skies, light evening winds, and oppressive afternoon heat daily.

Extreme heat threatens residents without reliable cooling, especially in the Rio Grande Valley and along US-54 and Loop 375. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration urges limiting strenuous activity to early mornings or evenings. Hydrate frequently and check on vulnerable neighbors.

Tuesday offers a slight reprieve with a 30% chance of afternoon showers, but temperatures remain in the mid-90s through Wednesday. A weak disturbance may bring isolated storms late Tuesday and Wednesday night. Lows will stay mild, hovering in the low 70s each night.

📅 Extended Five-Day Forecast for Fort Bliss (June 9–13):

  • Monday: Sunny, 99°F high.
  • Tuesday: 95°F with scattered showers after noon.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, 95°F; slight chance of evening rain.
  • Thursday: Clear, hot again, near 99°F.
  • Friday: 100°F and sunny.

Prepare for continued heat. No new advisories are issued as of press time, but more could follow if triple-digit highs persist.
