Indianapolis, IN – Snowfall is expected to begin in west-central Indiana as early as noon today, weather officials reported. Accumulations could range from up to one inch in some areas to over three inches in heavier snow bands.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, snow will spread eastward, reaching the Ohio border by late afternoon. Officials predict the heaviest snowfall to occur between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. A narrow band of more intense snow may develop, which could increase totals in isolated areas.

Travelers should prepare for slick roadways and slower traffic due to reduced visibility. Authorities recommend reducing speed and allowing extra time for commutes.

The National Weather Service emphasized that snow amounts could change as the system progresses. Residents are urged to monitor updates for potential adjustments to accumulation forecasts.

Winter weather preparedness includes using caution while driving and avoiding nonessential travel during peak snowfall hours.
