Green Bay, WI – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across central and northeast Wisconsin from midnight Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday, with snow, strong winds, and hazardous road conditions expected.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will transition to snow after midnight, with accumulations ranging from 2 to 4 inches. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, creating areas of blowing and drifting snow, particularly in Marathon, Portage, Waushara, Wood, Menominee, Northern Marinette, Northern Oconto, Shawano, and Waupaca counties.

The heaviest snowfall is expected between 3 a.m. and midday Wednesday, making for a dangerous morning commute. Drivers should anticipate reduced visibility and slippery roads, with conditions potentially worsening during the evening commute as well.

Officials advise motorists to slow down and use caution, as gusty winds may also bring down tree branches. Road condition updates are available by calling 511 or visiting Wisconsin DOT’s website.

Residents should prepare for delays and plan accordingly, as travel disruptions are likely throughout Wednesday.
