Louisiana Weather Alert: Tornado Watches Issued for Multiple Parishes Until Tuesday Evening

Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Tornado Watches for multiple parishes across Louisiana, with severe weather expected through Tuesday evening.

According to the NWS, Tornado Watch 20 remains in effect until 3 p.m. CST for parts of north-central, central, and southwest Louisiana, including Caldwell, Grant, La Salle, Evangeline, Rapides, Acadia, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Vermilion, and Vernon parishes. Cities within the watch area include Alexandria, Lake Charles, Jennings, DeRidder, Ville Platte, and Crowley.

Additionally, Tornado Watch 21 is active until 7 p.m. CST for Avoyelles, St. Landry, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, and St. Mary parishes, including the cities of Lafayette, Opelousas, Morgan City, and New Iberia. Coastal areas, including Vermilion and West Cote Blanche Bays, are also under the watch.

Residents in the affected areas should stay weather-aware and be prepared to seek shelter if warnings are issued. The threat includes damaging winds, large hail, and potential tornadoes. Stay tuned to local alerts and have a safety plan in place.
