Quad Cities, IA/IL – The weekend begins with cloudy skies and cooler temperatures, but a brief warm-up is on the horizon. Residents along I-74 and surrounding areas should prepare for highs in the upper 30s Saturday, with improvements expected Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will remain overcast with a high of 38°F. Winds will shift southwest in the afternoon at around 5 mph. Tonight, temperatures will drop to a low of 36°F under mostly cloudy skies.

By Sunday, conditions improve slightly as partly sunny skies return. Temperatures will climb to a high near 55°F, with light south winds creating more comfortable outdoor conditions. Sunday night will see temperatures dip to 41°F as cloud cover increases.

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving week, Monday will bring highs near 47°F and mostly cloudy skies, while Tuesday offers a brief sunny period, though the high will only reach 36°F. Snow chances increase Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day, with accumulations possible along key roadways like I-74 and Route 67.

Drivers should remain alert for potential snow-covered roads midweek, especially as holiday travel increases. Take precautions by monitoring updated forecasts and checking road conditions before traveling.

Stay tuned for updates as Thanksgiving approaches, and take advantage of Sunday’s warmer weather before another round of cold moves in.
