Oregon – A gray, chilly start hangs over Portland this morning as overcast skies trap cold air near the ground. Temperatures sit near 37 degrees at PDX, and patchy frost has formed in outlying neighborhoods.

Fog pockets earlier have reduced visibility in spots, especially near the Columbia River and low-lying roads. Bridges along I-5 and I-84 could feel slick where frost lingers. Drivers should stay cautious through mid-morning.

Clouds gradually thin, and sunshine breaks through by late morning. Highs climb to near 53 degrees. The afternoon will feel noticeably milder compared to the brisk dawn.

Another cold night follows with lows near 35 degrees. Patchy frost redevelops before sunrise. Friday brings areas of frost early, then gradual clearing with highs near 54.

The weekend stays quiet but cool. Saturday remains mostly cloudy with a high near 54. Sunday turns mostly sunny and warmer, reaching 58 degrees. That warming trend continues into early March.

Monday pushes close to 59 degrees under sunny skies. Tuesday could reach near 60 before rain chances increase by midweek. While snow falls in parts of the Northern Plains and heavy rain targets the Gulf Coast, western Oregon remains in a calmer late-winter pattern.

This is prime time for flash freezing, especially where daytime melt refreezes after sunset. Keep an eye on shaded sidewalks and neighborhood streets.

Five Day Outlook for Portland, Oregon:
Today: Morning frost, then mostly sunny, high 53.
Friday: Early frost, then clearing, high 54.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, high 54.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 58.
Monday: Sunny, high 59.
