California – Headlights glow dimly through a thick wall of fog across Sacramento this morning as visibility drops to a quarter mile or less. The Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m., and travel is already slow along I-5, Highway 99, and I-80.

At Sacramento Executive Airport, temperatures sit near 55 degrees with saturated air and calm winds. The fog is dense and stubborn in the northern San Joaquin Valley and southern Sacramento Valley.

Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra distance. Conditions can change quickly block by block. Low visibility makes merging and lane changes more dangerous through mid-morning.

Fog gradually thins late this morning. Sunshine breaks through by midday, pushing highs to near 71 degrees. The turnaround will feel dramatic after the gray start.

Tonight turns partly cloudy with lows near 51. Friday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 73 degrees. That warming trend sets the stage for a mild late-winter stretch.

Saturday stays partly sunny with a high around 72. A slight rain chance develops late Saturday night into Sunday, with highs near 67. Early March looks seasonable and calm.

Monday returns to partly sunny skies and highs near 68. Tuesday climbs close to 69 before midweek rain chances increase slightly. While snow spreads across the Northern Plains and heavy rain targets the Gulf Coast, inland Northern California enjoys above-normal warmth.

Five Day Outlook for Sacramento, California:
Today: Dense fog early, then sunny, high 71.
Friday: Mostly sunny, high 73.
Saturday: Partly sunny, high 72.
Sunday: Slight chance of rain, high 67.
Monday: Partly sunny, high 68.
