Dallas, TX – A warming trend is underway across North Texas, with temperatures expected to climb into the 90s by Thursday, May 14, and continue through the end of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, highs will rise from the low to mid-80s Tuesday, May 12, into the upper 80s Wednesday, May 13, before reaching the low 90s across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex by Thursday and Friday.
Cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Killeen, Sherman, and Denison are all expected to see similar warming trends, with overnight lows gradually increasing into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees by late week.
In addition to the rising temperatures, breezy conditions are expected to develop Thursday and Friday as a weather system approaches from the west. Winds could become gusty at times, especially during the afternoon hours.
Looking ahead to the weekend, a weak dryline is expected to set up across West Texas, bringing a slight chance of rain back into parts of North Texas. However, widespread rainfall is not currently expected.
The combination of increasing heat and breezy conditions may elevate fire weather concerns in some areas, particularly where dry conditions persist.
Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and prepare for a noticeable shift toward early summer conditions as temperatures climb above average across the region.
