KANKAKEE, IL – A woman was arrested on Saturday night in Kankakee after allegedly putting a gun to her sister’s head during a domestic dispute.

Shena Johnson, 34 of Kankakee, was taken into custody by the Kankakee City Police Department and charged with Aggravated Assault and Domestic Battery along with possession of a firearm by a felon.

The incident was reported to the police by a woman who claimed that Johnson had become irritated with her and pulled out a gun, threatening to pull the trigger. However, what caught the police’s attention was a social media post allegedly showing Johnson holding the gun to her sister’s head.

The Kankakee City Police Department is urging residents to always call the police if they feel threatened or in danger. The use of a firearm in a domestic dispute can escalate the situation to a dangerous level.

Johnson is currently being held in the Kankakee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The alleged social media post may be used as evidence in the case against Johnson.
