NEW LENOX, IL – The Silver Cross Foundation is inviting everyone to the 2023 Silver Social event, “Just Breathe,” on Friday, April 14th, at CD & ME in Frankfort, IL, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser to benefit the lung services at Silver Cross Hospital, which is advancing cutting-edge lung services to reduce the high rate of lung cancer deaths in Will County.
According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women in the United States, and an estimated 127,070 people will die from the disease in 2023. The Silver Cross Hospital aims to reduce this number by expanding lung services and providing new life-saving measures to help patients “Just Breathe” easy when it comes to their treatment.
The event promises an afternoon of sips and socializing, eats and entertainment, robotic demonstrations, and raffles. Guests are encouraged to wear white in support of lung disease awareness.
The Silver Social committee, chaired by Michele Vana, includes Dr. Gillian Alex and Dr. Kristopher McDonough as Honorary Co-Chairs, and Susan Frangella, Claudia Aguirre, Kathy Miller, Amy Norwich, Michelle Bober, Marcy Paddock, Amy Cunningham, Kim Poolf, Laura Czerkies, Tracy Simons, and Sue D’Arcy.
