Dodge City, KS – A winter weather advisory is in effect for southwest and south-central Kansas, beginning at 3 a.m. CST Monday and lasting until 6 p.m. the same day. Residents should prepare for snow accumulations of up to two inches and hazardous road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, the advisory covers multiple counties, including Ford, Grant, Scott, and Pratt. The snowfall will be light and dry due to an arctic air mass in the region. With lighter winds, snow is expected to stick to roads, especially bridges and overpasses, causing slick and potentially dangerous travel conditions.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and remain vigilant while traveling. For updated road conditions, drivers can call 511 within Kansas.

This advisory highlights minor traffic impacts, but conditions could worsen during peak travel hours Monday morning. Prepare for delays and avoid unnecessary travel if possible.

The snowfall is expected to taper off by Monday evening, bringing a brief end to wintry conditions in the region.
