Kankakee, IL – Downtown Kankakee will transform into a winter wonderland on December 14, featuring a lineup of festive events. The day kicks off with the Mistletoe Market at Harold and Jean Miner Festival Square from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can also explore the Indoor Winter Market at the Kankakee Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both markets are free to attend.
According to event organizers, the City of Kankakee Christmas Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. The route starts at the corner of North Schuyler Avenue and East Oak Street and ends near the Train Depot Fountain. Free parking will be available along South Schuyler Avenue and other designated areas.
Other highlights include the Winter Wonderland Pub Crawl from 10:30 a.m. to noon, requiring a $25 entry fee, and a live performance by Katzpa Jammas at 6 p.m. at Majestic Weddings and Events. Tickets for the concert cost $10. Families can also enjoy a free showing of The Grinch (2018) at Classic Cinemas Paramount Theatre at 10 a.m.
This day-long celebration promises holiday fun for all ages, ensuring a memorable kickoff to the season.
