Indiana Semi-Truck Fire Destroys Four Vehicles at Michigan City Truck Stop

Michigan City, IN – Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed multiple semi-trucks at the Gallops Gas Station and Truck Stop early Friday morning.

Deputy Kasz Billings responded to the scene at 1:51 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle fire. According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, three semi-truck combinations were fully engulfed in flames upon his arrival.

The fire quickly spread to six vehicles, completely destroying four. Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze, but significant damage had already occurred. No injuries have been reported.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation. Authorities have not determined the cause of the fire. Investigators are seeking information that could provide leads.
