Quad Cities, IA – A heat advisory has been issued for parts of Iowa as temperatures are expected to soar and thunderstorms are likely over the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) in the Quad Cities has provided an overview of weather conditions starting today, with a forecast predicting highs ranging from 87 to 95 degrees, accompanied by high humidity levels.

According to the NWS, today’s temperatures will reach between 87 and 91 degrees, with a 20-30% chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Sunday will see even hotter conditions, with highs from 89 to 94 degrees and a similar chance of thunderstorms. The heat index could reach near 103 degrees, making outdoor activities risky without proper precautions.

The weather pattern continues into Monday, with highs expected between 90 and 95 degrees and a higher chance of severe thunderstorms, especially in the northern part of the state. By Tuesday, temperatures will cool slightly, ranging from 80 to 86 degrees, with less humidity.
