Darke County, OH Crash: SUV Rolls Over Near Versailles, Driver Injured

Versailles, OH – A 23-year-old Troy man was injured after the SUV he was driving left the roadway and overturned in a rural area of Darke County Saturday evening, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded at approximately 6:10 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, to the 9700 block of Versailles Southeastern Road near Versailles for a reported injury crash. Deputies were assisted by the Versailles Fire Department, Versailles Rescue, and CareFlight.

Preliminary investigators said Dustin Burk, 23, of Troy, was driving a 2001 white Mercury Mountaineer southeast on Versailles Southeastern Road, east of Christian Road, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Authorities said Burk corrected back onto the roadway but then crossed left of center before overcorrecting again to the right. The SUV then struck a ditch, causing it to roll over before coming to rest on its side in a nearby cornfield.

Emergency crews transported Burk to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Officials said his condition has not been released.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
