Abingdon, MD – Three men were arrested in Harford County Friday afternoon after deputies say they were involved in coordinated shoplifting incidents at retail stores along Constant Friendship Boulevard.
According to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17, to a store in Abingdon for a reported theft that had just occurred. Loss prevention officers told authorities that three men allegedly stole merchandise before leaving the scene in a vehicle and entering the parking lot of another nearby store.
Deputies located the unoccupied vehicle and began searching for the suspects. Inside the second store, one man was reportedly found attempting to leave with unpaid merchandise. Additional deputies outside then located two more suspects, and all three men were detained.
Authorities identified the suspects as Raymond McLemore, 38, of Rising Sun; Wallace Johnson Jr., 63, of Baltimore; and John McCauley Jr., 45, of White Marsh. Investigators allege the trio worked together to steal more than $1,600 in merchandise from one store and over $800 from another.
According to officials, McLemore initially provided a false name and was wearing a jersey that he allegedly admitted stealing from the second store.
During a search of the suspects’ vehicle, deputies reported finding narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
All three men were taken into custody and transported to the Harford County Detention Center. McLemore and Johnson were held without bond, while McCauley was released on an unsecured bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
