Fort Worth, TX – Rain and thunderstorms are headed for North Texas this weekend, with travel along major roadways like I-35 and I-20 likely to be affected. A weak cold front will bring widespread showers and potential thunderstorms starting Friday night, lasting through Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, cloudy skies will dominate Friday, with patchy drizzle forming throughout the day. By Friday night, scattered showers will intensify along the I-35 corridor, increasing the risk of slick roads and reduced visibility. South winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph, are expected.

On Saturday, thunderstorms are forecast to accompany the cold front through the morning hours before rain moves southeast in the afternoon. Highs will remain in the low 60s on Friday and Saturday, before cooler temperatures settle in during the evening. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with lows dipping into the upper 40s.

Looking ahead, Sunday will bring drier conditions, with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s. However, another storm system is expected Sunday night into Monday, bringing a 40-50% chance of thunderstorms.

Residents should remain alert for changing weather conditions and plan ahead if traveling, especially during peak rain times Friday night and early Saturday.

Five-Day Fort Worth Forecast:

• Friday: Cloudy, breezy, and drizzle. High: 62°F.

• Sunday: Partly sunny, warm. High: 73°F.
