According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely develop after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a 70% chance of rain and the potential for lightning and isolated flooding. High temperatures will reach 90°F, but it may feel closer to 98°F with the humidity. Winds from the east-southeast at 6 to 9 mph could push storm cells across I-275 and downtown Tampa, potentially slowing commutes and impacting outdoor activities.

While rainfall totals should remain under a quarter inch, brief downpours are possible in storm cores. Localized street flooding, especially in low-lying areas and near the Hillsborough River, may occur during peak intensity. Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Lightning remains a hazard for beachgoers and construction crews.
