Caribou, Maine – Wet roads and reduced visibility could impact the early Wednesday commute as light rain spreads across Maine overnight, with totals reaching up to one-third of an inch in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, rain will develop tonight and continue into early Wednesday morning, producing between 0.25 and 0.33 inches across much of the state. Northern areas will hold onto low clouds through Tuesday, while Downeast regions see partial sunshine before conditions deteriorate after sunset.
Cities including Presque Isle, Caribou, Bangor, and Bar Harbor will experience mostly cloudy skies through midweek, with temperatures ranging from the low 50s north to the upper 50s and near 60 degrees جنوب. By Friday, highs climb into the upper 50s to low 60s statewide, offering a brief warming trend.
River conditions continue to improve, with ice clearing along the Aroostook River and southern waterways, though some movement persists on far northern rivers like the St. John and Allagash. No major flooding is expected, but officials continue to monitor.
Drivers should allow extra travel time Wednesday morning and watch for slick roads. Additional updates will follow if rainfall totals increase or river conditions change.
