Massachusetts – A crisp 30-degree morning greets Boston with a light breeze and a wind chill near the low 20s. Skies show a few clouds now, but changes arrive quickly as we close out February.

Sunshine dominates today with highs near 47 degrees. South winds gust over 20 mph at times, adding a brisk edge. Roads stay dry through daylight hours, but colder air waits just offshore.

Clouds thicken tonight, and patchy fog may develop toward daybreak. Lows fall to around 25 degrees. By Sunday, snow becomes likely after 1 p.m. across Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts.

Forecasters expect around 1 inch of accumulation. Snow may fall steadily through late afternoon before tapering at night. Plan extra time on I-93, I-95, and the Mass Pike. Even light snow can create slick spots, especially as temperatures hover in the mid-30s.

Sunday night turns sharply colder as skies gradually clear. Lows plunge near 10 degrees. Wind chills may dip below zero at times. Any untreated wet pavement could refreeze, raising flash freezing concerns into early Monday.

Monday stays sunny but cold, with highs near 26 degrees. Another round of mixed precipitation develops Tuesday. Snow may begin early afternoon, then transition to rain by evening as a warm front nudges north. Highs reach the low 40s.

Rain lingers into Wednesday morning before partial clearing. Highs rebound to the mid-40s. Late week trends milder, with highs pushing the upper 40s and beyond as March settles in.

Nationally, Arctic air spreads across the northern tier while record warmth bakes the Southwest. Boston sits on that dividing line between late winter snow and emerging spring vibes.
