Fayetteville, AR — A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 7 a.m. CDT for several counties across Arkansas, including Benton, Boone, and Washington, as severe thunderstorms continue to impact the region. The watch, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, extends to a total of 11 counties in the northwest part of the state.

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, the affected areas—Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Madison, Newton, Scott, Sebastian, and Washington—are at heightened risk for tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds during the early hours of Sunday. The threat is expected to last until 7 a.m., but additional warnings may be issued if conditions worsen.

Residents in these counties are urged to remain vigilant and stay informed through local weather sources. If you are in a mobile home, tent, or vehicle, seek shelter immediately in a sturdy building or designated safe room. Keep weather radios or smartphone alerts activated for real-time updates and prepare to take action if a tornado warning is issued.

The NWS will continue to monitor conditions throughout the night, and more updates may follow as the severe weather system moves eastward.
