this year’s Trunk or Treat in partnership with the Kankakee Fire Department and
local organizations....
“The City of Kankakee is undergoing a renaissance and the administration is taking seriously the need to redefine what it means to be a resident, business owner, and visitor in the City. Furthermore, we have been challenged by our local industry leaders to create amenities that will help recruit and retain employees. Bike lanes also bring awareness to the opportunity to engage in healthy activity, are environmentally friendly and allow people to slow down to see our beautiful city in a way they would not if they were driving a vehicle,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

“We are the best kept secret in the City of Kankakee because although we have been in existence for about five years, we are new to putting the word out. All are welcome,” said Program Coordinator Rick Seemann.
In 2018, Thompson wrote “The Truth About Candy,” a novel-length work of fiction. His newest book, “You Should Have Listened when I Told You the 1st Time,” is set in Kankakee County. It is scheduled to be released this month.
