Kankakee, IL – The Kankakee Police Department is set to host this year’s Trunk or Treat in partnership with the Kankakee Fire Department and local organizations. The community is encouraged to attend, bring the kids, and show off their best costumes.
“It’s been successful over the years. I believe the community enjoys coming out and meeting our officers, as well as, the fire department who partners with us. I know our officers enjoy it. It’s great to promote public safety and we always want to remind the parents to check the candy. We want to wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween,” said Deputy Chief Willie Hunt.
“The City of Kankakee is always looking for ways to engage our community. We are excited that our police and fire department will be hosting this event again this year. It brings the community together and keeps everyone safe in one location which can be a great alternative for parents who would like that option,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
The event will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. behind the Public Safety Building located at 385 E. Oak Street, in Kankakee, Illinois.
