Grand Forks, ND – Gusty winds reaching up to 40 mph and drifting snow will create hazardous driving conditions in the Grand Forks region through Tuesday. Motorists, especially those traveling on rural roads and highways, are urged to drive with caution as visibility is expected to be reduced throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service, a low-pressure system moving southeast from Manitoba will bring strong winds and limited snowfall Monday night into Tuesday morning. Areas near Lake of the Woods are most likely to see snow accumulations, while the rest of the region will experience wind-blown snow and freezing conditions. Temperatures on Tuesday will climb to the mid-30s before dropping to the teens by evening, increasing the risk of icy roads.

The strong winds will persist into Tuesday night, with gusts making it feel significantly colder. By midweek, temperatures will remain below freezing, and wind chills will drop into single digits. Residents are advised to secure loose items outdoors, limit travel where possible, and prepare for colder conditions later in the week.
