Wilmington, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of northern Kentucky and southern Ohio until 1 p.m. Sunday as snow continues to blanket the region.

The National Weather Service reports that snowfall totals are expected to reach 1 to 3 inches across the affected areas, including cities such as Portsmouth, Chillicothe, and Maysville. While the heaviest snow will taper off by early afternoon, additional snow showers are possible later in the day.

According to officials, roadways, particularly bridges and overpasses, may become slick and hazardous. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and reduce speeds while traveling. Kentucky travelers can access updates on road conditions at goky.ky.gov, while Ohio drivers should visit ohgo.com for real-time updates.

The advisory covers northeast and northern Kentucky as well as central, south-central, and southwest Ohio. Areas such as Carrollton, Georgetown, and Logan are expected to experience challenging travel conditions as snow accumulates.

Residents should allow extra time for travel and prepare for slippery roads, particularly during the morning commute. Those in the region are urged to stay updated on changing conditions throughout the day.

This advisory is part of a broader weather system moving through the area, bringing below-average temperatures and light snow accumulation.
