Lander, WY – A late-season snowstorm is causing significant disruptions across Wyoming and Colorado, with some areas seeing up to two feet of snow. As of 12:01 p.m. EDT on April 19, 2025, Lander, WY recorded a remarkable 26 inches of snow, with other nearby locations also reporting substantial accumulation. Areas south and west of Lander, including areas like 7 SW and 9 S Lander, also saw heavy snowfall amounts, ranging from 20 to 23 inches.
According to the National Weather Service, this storm is being fueled by a low-pressure system moving through the region. Loveland Pass, CO, located just outside Denver, reported 16.8 inches of snow, while other high-altitude areas in Colorado, such as Copper Mountain, saw about 14 inches. The storm is expected to continue through the weekend, with snow spreading into southern Wyoming and the northern Colorado Rockies.
Officials are urging residents and travelers in affected regions to stay updated on road conditions, as hazardous travel is likely due to poor visibility and icy roads. Snow and rain will continue to move through the area, with a potential for flash flooding in some regions.
The snowstorm marks a powerful close to the Easter weekend, with severe weather expected to affect the central U.S. into Sunday.
