Black River Falls, WI – Multiple tornadoes touched down across Jackson County Friday afternoon, damaging homes, knocking down trees, and cutting power lines across several communities within a span of less than an hour.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the first confirmed report came around 4:25 p.m. near Highway 10 and County Highway M in Garfield Township, where a deputy observed a tornado on the ground. By 4:39 p.m., the National Weather Service confirmed another tornado near Black River Falls moving northeast.

Additional reports followed quickly. Around 4:57 p.m., a tornado was spotted near Morrison Road in the Town of Komensky, with a deputy confirming another touchdown at 5:01 p.m. along County Highway K. The rapid succession of storms created scattered damage zones across the county.

Impacts include downed trees blocking local roads, power lines knocked out in multiple areas, and structural damage to homes. Emergency crews from state and local agencies responded, including Wisconsin State Patrol, county emergency management, and multiple fire departments working to clear debris and restore access.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported, but officials say damage assessments are ongoing and conditions may change as crews reach harder-hit rural areas.

Cleanup efforts will continue through the weekend, and residents are urged to avoid damaged roadways and downed power lines. Additional updates are expected as surveys continue and more information becomes available.
