Terre Haute, IN – A late-night crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles left one person injured Monday, May 11, in Vigo County.

According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11:00 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Woodsmall Road near Terre Haute. The crash involved a motorcycle traveling northbound on US 41 and a vehicle attempting to turn east onto Woodsmall.

Investigators say the motorcycle struck the turning vehicle, then continued into a second vehicle, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision.

The motorcycle operator, identified as a female rider, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital in the Indianapolis area for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.

Authorities say there is no indication of criminal activity related to the crash at this time.

Emergency responders from Transcare and Honey Creek Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The intersection experienced temporary disruptions as crews worked to clear the crash and assist those involved.

Drivers in the area are reminded to use caution at intersections, especially during nighttime hours when visibility may be reduced.
