Stevens Point, Wisconsin – Floodwaters are already spilling into low-lying areas along the Wisconsin River, with levels above flood stage and ongoing impacts expected to persist until further notice.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, minor flooding is underway below the Biron Reservoir in Wood County, where river levels reached 1017.5 feet late Thursday morning. That exceeds the 1017-foot flood stage and is high enough to push water into wooded lowlands and toward homes along South Biron Drive.

Farther upstream, the Wisconsin River below Stevens Point in Portage County is also above flood stage at 1076.6 feet. Floodwaters are spreading across lowland areas, with no immediate drop in levels expected as recent high flows continue to move through the system.

A separate Flood Warning is now in effect along the Menominee River near the White Rapids Dam along the Wisconsin-Michigan border. Water levels there are nearing 15 feet, well above the 14-foot flood stage, with flooding largely impacting wooded areas but signaling continued high flow conditions.

Drivers should avoid flooded roads and never bypass barricades, as water depths can rise quickly. Officials say additional updates are expected later today, and warnings will remain in place until river levels fall below flood stage.
